Solar PV Engineering Manager provides technical support across all areas of the organisation for PV projects. Lead and manage all areas related, from projects in early development and pre-construction phases to projects in construction up to O&M stages including technical specifications definition, design optimization maximizing yield and optimizing LCOE.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Provide support in the project development process, this includes potential acquisitions across all disciplines; electrical, civil, mechanical, interconnection and yield.
  2. Lead technical due diligences and manage consultants.
    Takes care of energy yield assessments making use of simulation tools. Undertake LCOE analysis and optimizations supporting Generation area.
  3. Responsible of the assessment of the state of the art of modules, inverters, trackers and structures, MV equipment and M&C (including PPCs)
  4. Lead the development of basic designs; layout, SLD, equipment selection
  5. Lead and negotiate together with Construction area the development of EPC Contract Technical annexes including guaranteed PR requirements and main equipment technical specifications.
  6. Interacts and support construction and businesses areas and serves as main point of competence for its area of knowledge.
  7. Manage Technical Advisors and Consultants to support related activities.
  8. Ready to carry out site visits to both new greenfield sites and sites under construction.
  9. Undertakes together with other functions following analysis: curtailment, PR, project risks, etc.
  10. Interacts and support construction and businesses areas and serves as main point of competence for its area of knowledge.

 REQUIREMENTS

  • Engineering degree associated with electrical power systems and/or electrical engineering or equivalent.
  • Strong background on utility scale Solar PV industry. Proven track record and experience in a similar role for more than 8 years.
  • Excellent knowledge of PV generating technologies and its current state of the art including main components.
  • Resource assessment. Proficient in PVSyst is a must including good knowledge of the factors affecting PV plant performance. Knowledge in other simulation tools is preferred.
    Proficient in AutoCAD.
  • Acceptable understanding of the logics of EPC and O&M contracts. Experience in drafting technical specifications and annexes.
    Good understanding of PPAs and familiar on providing technical inputs to the Business.
  • Battery energy storage and hybridation experience is a plus.
  • Experience in projects in America, Europe and Australia will be valued.
    Strong communication and collaborative skills, strategic vision, push to make things happen and appetite to succeed and commercially astute.
  • Capacity to work unsupervised.
  • Proactive, autonomous, flexible and being able to prioritizise. Anticipation capacity and problem solver and solution provider.
  • Fluent Englisth is a must (C1).
